Paraguay Teacher's Day - April 30th

The Teacher’s Day in Paraguay celebrated every 30th of April also holds significance as the date is decided during the teacher’s national convention. Paraguay is only a small country in South America with a total population of over six million. The incumbent President Nicanor Duarte Frutos is fully supporting the education program of the country and it’s been behind various educational reforms in the region.

The following are the usual activities in Paraguay during teacher appreciation day every 30th of April. The country has bee observing teacher appreciation activities since 1915.

Small parties

When this very significant day in the country comes there would be simultaneous celebrations all over the country by private and government schools. Organizations of students, teachers and parents would always make it point to make the celebration lively by offering food, gifts, tokens and love cards to thousands of teachers. The usual preparation of the country’s best delicacies has also become part of the school celebrations. Students would always make their love cards memorable for their favourite teachers during the occasion.

Sports competitions

Some schools and universities in major cities in the country would also embark on hosting invitational sporting activities for the educations. They have also acknowledged that with the teacher’s work many have become fat because of no more exercises. They want that teachers should also have some athletic activities to promote weight loss. The event has also become often since many students would also love to see their teachers play basketball, badminton, volleyball and other ball games.

Cultural presentations

Other schools in the country would also hold cultural competitions among teachers to show their other side aside from their teaching profession which is their main career where they also get their bread and butter to feed the daily food needs of the children and their families.
