Latin America Teacher's Day - September 11th
There are various celebrations of teacher appreciation day in Latin America as each different country celebrates this very significant event in their respective countries. The Pan-Latin American conference is also separately having this activity every 11th of September. It’s called regional teacher’s day.
The following are the usual teacher appreciation activity across Pan-Latin American which most teachers believe worth keeping.
Traditional Card giving
Thousands of students in pan Latin America are expected to prepare personalized love and greetings card and give them to their favourite teachers. This is the most traditional way of teacher appreciation ideas but many teachers believe this very appropriate. Many teachers said they always to read love messages and greetings of their students.
Sponsored parties
In the usual sense teacher’s organizations cannot afford to prepare for their own party since they have only very limited funds, so that during teacher’s day, only big colleges and universities are the only institutions that would sponsor special educators parties to give full meaning to the national celebration. Among the highlights of the party would be the awarding of outstanding teachers. Plaques of recognitions are awarded to teachers who made excellent contribution in their fields of expertise.
Beach parties
The government schools that only have very limited funds would prefer to hold their parties in beaches. They feel that this is also one way of letting the teachers get out of their usual four-cornered classrooms. In the beach, there are also awarding activities to outstanding government teachers.
Sporting events
Some private and government schools would also join hands in holding invitational sport fests for teachers to give more athletic side to the celebrations. They believe that teachers that are only confined in classroom usually become fat and no longer healthy.
