Dominican Republic Teacher's Day - June 30th

Every 30th of June the whole populace of the country give respect to teachers as their sector would celebrate the Dominican Republic Teacher’s Day. Lots of fun fare and activities are lined up when this very important national celebration comes. The purpose of the celebration is to recognize the important contribution of teachers in nation building.

The following are the usual activities in this country during the celebration of Dominican Republic Teacher’s Day.

School activities

Thousands of schools in the country from elementary down to tertiary levels are usually joining the simultaneous celebration. Students would entertainment the teachers by way of various cultural and modern dances, as well as render songs, comical skits, dramatization and other entertainment numbers to make the teacher’s day memorable. The school administrations would also prepare the famous delicacy in the country and treat teachers to a lunch. Other colleges and universities would schedule their special parties for the teachers in the night at a classy restaurants or hotels. As usual, this year love cards would again flood on teacher classroom as thousands of students all over the country would be giving their personalized greeting cards to their favourite teachers. Teachers would also love to hear the best messages of students since these letters give them more encouragement to go on teaching despite having some problems at home or on their salaries.

Beach parties

Other schools would also schedule to give teachers beach parties as a getaway to their four-cornered classrooms where they devote most of their time everyday.
