Bulgaria Teacher's Day - May 24th
The Bulgaria Teacher’s Day is one of the national activities in the country to celebrate – and which aimed at giving recognition to the efforts made by teachers. The government has been considering their contribution to nation building. Their teacher appreciation day is dubbed as “ Bulgaria’s Education Day” in which students and parents as well as the local government help one another in lining up activities and other teacher appreciation ideas to appreciate the efforts made by the educators all over the country.
Bulgaria is also one of the countries of the world that is having unusual protest actions from the education sector demanding for salary increases.
Although the country is marred by protests for salary hikes, the government continue to find solutions to these pressing concerns of the teachers. Aside from the usual flooding of love cards and other tokens of appreciations for teachers, a special teacher’s forum is likely to happening this year’s celebration to evaluate the plight of teachers in the region. The teachers in Bulgaria are currently receiving $320 dollars and they are pressing the government to look into this concern.
Like any other countries of the world, Bulgaria’s educators are protecting their salaries be increased to a more sustainable level. They claimed their professions are also affected with the low pay they are receiving every month. The government is, however, considering this problem and now instituting measures how this problem can be solve in a win-win situation between teachers and their employers, so as not to affect the economy of the country. The private institution owners are also claiming they cannot give in if there are increases in salaries since the country’s economy is not as stable as other countries of the world.
