Brunei Teacher's Day - September 23rd
The
Brunei Teacher's Day is always one of the best celebrations all over the globe as teachers were always treated with different activities such as sports, parties, recognition from government leaders and all other activities. The government celebrates
teacher appreciation day every
23rd of September. However, last year’s celebration was moved to October as the country was observing fasting month.
The celebration dubbed as
Sultanate’s National Teacher’s Day is always supported by the sultanate of Brunei. The sultan is also setting aside the national budget of the government for this annual celebration for teachers.
This year’s celebration of Brunei Teacher’s Day promises to be another big event in the whole country as thousands of schools in the provinces have started their planning sessions. As usual, the report says there will be sports activities again,
giving of teacher appreciation cards to teachers as well as special parties in major schools in the country which have enough funding.
Last year around 500 teachers coming from 20 schools participated in a sports event held at the Mumong Sports Complex. The teachers were really sweating it out and getting some fats as they played. In fact, secretary of sports Day Dyg Hih Kartini was impressed with the result of the sporting competition aimed at
developing camaraderie among teachers.
Another big event last year was the national level teacher’s day at the International Convention Center in Berakas participated by thousands of teachers. The event was even guested by the countries top leaders - His majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, and Abdul Malik.
The presence of the Bolkiahs and their cabinets in event like
teacher’s day was very noteworthy that they are supporting education program in the country. The leadership of Bolkiah promises to be one of the best in the history of this country in South East Asia.
