Bolivia Teacher's Day - June 6th
The celebration of Bolivia Teacher’s Day every 6th of June is always memorable for teachers. This is the government’s effort of recognizing their contribution in nation building. Although the country is not declaring this a national holiday like any other countries of the world, this is always the time when teachers would feel happy and proud to have chosen this noble profession. June 6 is also significant in Bolivia, honouring thousands of the country’s educators, as well as this is the birth date of Modesto Omiste, omiste of the country’s most respectable educator ever recorded in the education history of Bolivia, the best country in this part of South America. This is also the day when the country’s first school for teachers was founded.
The following are teacher appreciation activities that usually happen in most provinces in Bolivia during the country’s celebration of Bolivia Teacher’s Day dubbed as Dia Del Maestro.
Song rendition
Students offer song renditions during specialized occasions marking the teacher’s day. This activity is done all over Bolivia’s provinces and participated by private and public students.
Poem recitals
This is another joyous activities also aimed at entertaining the teachers. Many students would compose their own poems and specially dedicated to their beloved teachers. This is also done during fitting occasions.
Banquet
Some of the group of parents and teachers organized special parties for teachers during the culmination day of the weeklong celebration which also end on every 6th of June called as the Bolivia Teacher’s Day.
Parade
One of the best activities conducted in the country during this very memorable occasion is the parade around the town. Teachers would be paraded during a simultaneous nationwide celebration. Different private and public schools also prepare their rondallas and school bands to give add glamour to the parade.
