Teacher Appreciation Day 2010 – May 4th
Teaching appreciation day 2010 is Tuesday 4th May of teacher appreciation week. Although the whole week is one of festivities in the honour of teaching, this day is the highlight of the week.
You can choose this day to officially give your teacher the gifts that you want to give them. You can be very inventive and give a personalised gift. Students in the past for example have given out t-shirts, teacher awards signed by the class, cards etc. Keep this date in mind so that you can show your teachers how much you appreciate them.
Furthermore, this day can federate students while they work on a common project, namely how to reward their teacher for their hard work. Students do this by making a student gift together or for instance by collecting votes for teacher awards.
It is also a day of exchange between the students and the teacher on becoming a teacher and teaching as a profession. To celebrate, many events can be organised such as music, sports, or tea-time drinks. An interesting way to celebrate would be to research a particular teaching method, for example from a different cultural background and to teach in that way for one day. Another possibility would be for the student and teacher roles to inverse on this day so that teachers remember their student hood and students realise how difficult it is to teach a class.
The key thing is to make the whole teacher appreciation week 2010 enjoyable for everyone so tasks and events need to appeal to all age groups. The important message conveyed throughout the week is teachers and how they have helped you succeed in your education. Showing your gratitude is a gift in itself so teachers will know that their help and advice throughout the year has been appreciated.
This is a meaningful day for everyone which is why teacher appreciation is so important and memorable.
